On The Trail

Behind our house we have a trail. It was a railroad track that has been paved especially for walking or other types of exercise. Three boys decided to bike and one was on a scooter. Gus and I walked.

There goes Lucas.
Gus is using the scooter so he can keep up with Sam on his bike.
It was right after dinner and you could see the moon.

The Artful Hummingbird

I have this red octopus clothes hanger hanging on my back porch and one day there was a hummingbird flying around it. Evidently they are attracted to red. So I bought a hummingbird feeder and have been trying to get a picture of him for the past week. But every time I try he flies to the other side of the feeder. I finally got these pictures yesterday.

He is a ruby throated hummingbird. His wings beat on an average of 53 per second in normal flight.
He visits often and has no problem visiting the feeder while we sit on the porch. He just doesn't like his picture taken.

Sam and Kurtis in the newspaper

While searching the web for something, I found an article about Kurtis' biology class planting trees and one about Sam's graduation from Little Miracles preschool. Here are the pictures from the articles.

That is Kurtis in the green shirt bending down with the shovel.
Just bypass the teacher and girls and look straight back at the boy in green. That is Kurtis.

Can't miss him. His graduation cap says SAM. Don't you just love the graduation gowns, tie dye white men's shirts.

2 boys, bar of soap, and a bowl of water

Equals BUBBLES

Evidently Kurtis has figured out how to blow bubbles with his fingers.
See how big he can make them
So he taught Sam how and he was trying so hard.
And finally....SUCCESS

So this is why it takes my boys forever in the shower and the soap is a pile of mush.
They all confessed to blowing bubbles while in the shower.

Catch up

It has been so long since I have really been blogging. So here are the last few months of events and pictures.

We went to the circus.
Birthdays came and went.
Kurtis turned 15, Lucas turned 12 and Samo is 5.
Sam graduated from 2 preschools and will start K in the fall.
And a house sparrow decided to make a nest in the geraniums my Dad gave me for Mother's day. It is hanging right outside my front door and even though the bird hating dog sits out there the bird doesn't seem to mind.
